Film Antics Independent Productions is a production company founded by Director and Executive Producer, Paul Aspuria. Film Antics projects include music videos, commercials, and films. Film Antics is dedicated to creating quality, out-of-the-box productions through unique and compelling story telling.

Paul Aspuria

Paul’s Bio

Owner/Director at Film Antics which he started with Manny Barredo. Studied Industrial engineering at California Polytechnic State University.

Paul is the engine behind Film Antics. From production pre to post, director, award-winning cinematography, and writer. He is a foreign film enthusiast.


Manny Barredo

Manny’s Bio

Manny started Film Antics alongside Paul Aspuria in Los Angeles about seven years ago with the intention of bringing creative images in the way they wanted them. Well-versed in all the aspects of production from pre to post, he has been involved in most of the projects as producer, assistant director, camera operator, writer, music scorer and even, actor.

Manny attended San Jose State University with a degree in Radio/Television/Film. Working simultaneously in the video production and media distribution in San Francisco for his career and lately, as an avid traveler to Asia and Europe, he adds a rich, well-rounded and worldly perspective into the group.


Raymund Aranda

Raymund joined Film Antics over 5 years ago as a producer and actor. Raymund has produced and acted in several 48 Hour Film Projects for Film Antics most notably Graduation Buzz and The Exchange. In addition, Raymund has also produced music videos such as Guerilla and Joust for Film Antics.

Raymund received his undergraduate degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from San Jose State University with a concentration in advertising and minor in marketing. With over 20 years of Retail Sales and Management experience, Raymund transitioned to the entertainment industry and spent 2 years taking acting classes at Playhouse West in Los Angeles, California. Raymund went on to receive his graduate degree in Multimedia Communications from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he honed his skills as a producer and on camera talent. His crowning achievement was producing and hosting I Am Fashion the Academy of Art University’s fashion show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City.

James Davis

James’ Bio

James joined Film Antics over five years ago as an actor and web producer. This includes performances as James in Don August Is Not His Real Name (2007), Milton in Attrition (2008), Zach in Jules & Zach (2009), The Exchange (2010), Graduation Buzz (2011), Some Kind of Sign (2011), and Lure (2011).

James earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics & Computing Specialization at UCLA. James joined Film Antics, took an acting class at West Valley College all while working at NASA. He is currently a Web Producer and High School basketball coach.


Juan Sotelo

Juan’s Bio

Juan joined Film Antics over two years ago as a producer and screenwriter. Juan wrote and produced the short film Lure and is writing Film Antics’ first produced feature film.

Juan is a graduate of UCLA, where he took courses in screenwriting and acting. Juan brings a wealth of real world experience as an IT Services Consultant and entrepreneur; and former experiences as an NCAA UCLA Track and Field and Cross-Country athlete, Intermediate Algebra teacher and High School coach.
